Canadian Women & Sport Announces Selected Same Game Challenge Organizations
Canadian Women & Sport is pleased to recognize the sport and recreation organizations across Canada that have been selected to join the Same Game Challenge. It is exciting to see the influx of applications for this year’s program and we applaud the efforts of the other 43 organizations who were motivated to take on this gender equity work.
The Same Game Challenge helps sport and physical activity organizations to gain a better understanding of how to engage women and girls in their sport, and to find opportunities to improve their organization and programming for everyone involved by the Same Game Online Toolkit. Thanks to funding from Sport Canada, Canadian Women & Sport will support these sport and physical activity leaders working to advance gender equity in their organization.
Canadian Women & Sport is excited to note that this group of diverse participating organizations represents groups from urban, rural and reserve geographical locations; Black, Indigenous and people of colour sport participants; and individual, team, and multi-seasonal sports.

The Same Game Challenge began with onboarding in August 2021, providing participating organizations with opportunities such as: one-on-one coaching and mentorship, professional development, financial support and knowledge and competency to better understand how to engage women and girls in sport.

The Same Game Challenge will conclude in March 2022 when participating organizations will have the opportunity to share their learnings and successes of the program.
